Trains moving coal through Forsyth, Montana. Since the mines have been running, over 550 million tons of coal have been dug up. Enough earth has been moved to fill both the Erie and Panama canals five times over. The proposed Tongue River Railroad would facilitate moving coal out of the Tongue River Valley and onward to the West Coast where it could be shipped to Asia.
